Iceland is a Nordic island country located between Europe and North America. Around 10 percent of this sparsely populated country is covered by glaciers. The capital and the largest city is Reykjavik. Iceland is a beautiful place with strange and desolate landscapes. Despite being covered by glaciers, Iceland has a surprisingly mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots and hot springs. It is also a popular destination to see the Aurora (northern lights)! 

When To Go:

The summer months – July and August, are the warmest, and are the best months to visit Iceland.

The month of June, with its 24 hours of daylight, sees just about as many tourists as the peak of summer.

Where To Go:

Blue Lagoon is a popular spa destination featuring an outdoor lagoon with mineral-rich waters in a lava field. It is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland.

Gullfoss is a visual spectacle in the Hvitá river. Its an iconic natural wonder known for its stunning “two-stage” waterfall.

Þingvellir is located in the east of Reykjavík. with dramatic rocky scenery, lakes & ridges and is famous for its natural historic shrine.

Visa fees:  4,000 ISK or 28.83€/day

Validity: 90 days

Processing Time: 2 days to 8 weeks

Required Documents:

  • A completed visa application form
  • 2 photographs (light background)
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel 
  • Documents showing the purpose of stay (hotel bookings, air tickets, travel itinerary)
  • sufficient funds for subsistence, considering the duration of the intended stay and a return journey to the country of departure

Where to submit the documents:

All applications for short-term visitor’s visa’s to Iceland must be submitted personally at Gerry’s Visa Service Centre.
